Polypropylene brushes have the best flick and are used for effectively sweeping asphalt, clay, gravel, light powdery snow, sand, and other road debris. They are not causing undue stress to asphalt on runways or other sensitive surfaces. No spacers are required for round brushes with a convoluted design (zig–zag shape). This makes assembly easier. However, the high and low points of the waves must be aligned correctly, i.e. offset by 90°.
